Requirements

  • Washington (WA) medical license (preferred)
  • Certification, or willingness to become certified, with the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I)
  • Neurologist with clinical expertise
  • Maintain proper credentialing, state licenses, and any special certifications required for the job
  • Attend all required orientation and training

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person Independent Medical Exams (IMEs) in Bellevue, WA (and future locations), potentially with video recording for approximately 15% of exams
  • Review all medical records and address each client question using client-specific criteria or nationally recognized evidence-based guidelines
  • Ensure rationale for determinations is clear, concise, and supported by adequate documentation
  • Identify, critique, and utilize current criteria/resources (e.g., national/state/professional guidelines, peer-reviewed literature), avoiding case studies or small cohorts
  • Provide copies of criteria used in reviews with the report
  • Return cases on or before due dates/times
  • Make telephone calls as mandated by state/client requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including addressing quality assurance issues, complaints, regulatory issues, depositions, court appearances, or audits
