Requirements

Candidates should possess 1-2 years’ experience in the Geospatial industry, a high school graduate degree or equivalent experience in GIS/Geospatial/Remote Sensing, and hands-on experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS, or equivalent, as well as expertise in 3D modeling packages like SketchUp, Maya, 3D Max, Blender, Photoshop, AutoCAD, or open-source image editing software like GIMP. Experience with scripting languages (shell, Python, Perl, JavaScript) and SQL, with a focus on dashboarding, is also required, along with experience creating and styling thematic maps and exposure to photogrammetry technology and software.

Responsibilities

The Imagery Ingestion and Processing Specialist will be responsible for processing and analyzing global-scale raster datasets, monitoring daily production and quality of data sets, interpreting data to recognize trends and potential problem areas, collaborating with cross-functional groups to ensure data flows through the pipeline to production, planning and executing daily operations to ensure project goals are met, interfacing with engineering teams to continually improve and automate overall operations processes and technical knowledge, maintaining process documentation and recommending improvements, identifying drivers of latency and quality issues and developing solutions, prioritizing data sets, monitoring bug queues and addressing issues, and communicating effectively at all levels of the business.
