Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 4 years relevant work experience
  • Broad exposure to medical imaging physics (desired)
  • Ability to design and develop imaging algorithms (desired)
  • Proficient in the use of software tools for analysis and simulation (MATLAB, Python, C++, etc.) (desired)
  • Effective communication skills and boundaryless behavior (desired)

Responsibilities

  • Specifying requirements which can be implemented by the engineering team
  • Executing design to engineering standards
  • Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on image quality
  • Verification and validation of system features and sub-systems relating to X-ray exposure control, image processing, and visualization
  • Working within a team to deliver technical solutions
  • Working with external collaborators and/or technical leadership to ensure that the technical deliverables are consistent with the goals of larger programs, projects or initiatives
  • Research and development for new and existing imaging products in the GE Healthcare Surgery product line
  • Proving a concept to be valid by the application of scientific and engineering methodologies
  • Demonstrating through test or analysis the performance and implementation potential of a concept
