Requirements

  • Willing to be onsite in the office at least 4 days per week
  • Expertise in HPC environments (Linux), Slurm, and OpenHPC
  • Experience with Linux distributions, hypervisors (KVM), Foreman or similar for patching and cluster management
  • Knowledge of identity management, multifactor authentication, and integration between Active Directory and Linux
  • Strong problem-solving skills for level two support, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting hardware, software, LAN, WAN, VPN, Internet, and mobile devices

Responsibilities

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve level two problems for users of software, hardware, LAN, WAN, VPN, Internet, mobile devices, and new technology; communicate solutions to end-users
  • Respond to complex issues escalated by first line support, identify root causes, determine actions, and propose creative solutions
  • Manage day-to-day operations and support of the HPC environment (Linux), including capacity, availability, and performance of HPC cluster(s)
  • Support end users in job submission and management using Slurm and OpenHPC
  • Migrate existing nodes to Linux as required
  • Implement and manage systems like Foreman for patching and cluster management
  • Implement patches and upgrades to Linux, Slurm, and OpenHPC
  • Install new servers and storage, build new clusters, configure and manage Linux distributions, hypervisors (KVM), and tooling
  • Automate processes to increase operational efficiency
  • Execute firewall access requests to the environment
  • Escalate priority support issues to senior staff or other technology groups, collecting and documenting relevant information
  • Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution
  • Assist in tracking helpdesk calls related to applications, networking, and systems issues
  • Assign username, password, and access rights for proprietary applications and client software
  • Perform identity management and multifactor authentication with Active Directory and Linux integration
  • Assist with creation and publication of end user documentation for new technology releases and system migrations
