High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent preferred and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 1 year); equivalency of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience may be considered
Knowledge of appropriate cleaning methods and procedures
Ability to read and follow directions
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Ability to learn, understand and follow OSHA regulations and bloodborne pathogens training
Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner
Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for typical working hours
Able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds
Able to work in non-traditional work environments
Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency
May have exposure to potentially hazardous elements, including infectious agents, typically found in healthcare or laboratory environments
Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities
Willingness to work third shift (nights), 8-hr shifts with 1 required weekend night per week
Tolerance for some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Responsibilities

Cleaning and organizing all areas of the facility in accordance with the Housekeeping Cleaning Log
Maintaining an adequate supply of cleaning materials to perform duties
Reporting all building deficiencies to the supervisor
Cleans all areas of the facility as indicated and documents a checklist that all required tasks have been completed
Ensuring all trash and cardboard boxes are collected and disposed of daily
Overseeing stock on all janitorial supplies, informing purchasing department when needing to replenish
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of utility room
Completing additional housekeeping duties, as needed to support special facilities projects
