Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science or other related field required (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • NMLS registration required
  • 4 or more years of experience in mortgage loan origination required
  • Proven pattern of success in consistent origination, closing, and funding of mortgage loans
  • Knowledge of mortgage procedures, regulations, underwriting, and loan processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of the residential mortgage lending process for 1 to 4 family dwellings
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to mortgage loan origination
  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and negotiation skills

Responsibilities

  • Originate standard residential type mortgage loans via telephone and internet with customers referred by identified branches of the Bank
  • Originate residential mortgage loans for employees of the Bank
  • Originate loans in compliance with the Bank’s underwriting guidelines and those published by the Bank's investors
  • Ensure strict compliance with regulator requirements for residential loan origination
  • Set up originated loans in the Bank's system and ensure processing through submission for underwriting
  • Attend internal training sessions, internal sales meetings, and external training opportunities
  • Comply with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations
