Requirements

  • Must have completed 1+ year of coding courses
  • Knowledge of at least one technology: C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python
  • Preference for knowledge of at least one: HTML/CSS/Angular, Oracle or SQL Server databases (P-SQL/T-SQL bonus), RESTful APIs or SOAP APIs, Node, GitHub, Asynchronous/Parallel Programming
  • A familiarity with design for real world usage
  • HPE CodeWars participants and HPE School Certificate holders preferred
  • Some experience in software application tools preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance knowledge in software development methodologies, principles, practices, and the software development lifecycle
  • Perform development activities: developing new features, identifying/fixing/documenting bugs, participating in peer code reviews, contributing to team knowledge base, analyzing/designing software and configuration changes
  • Learn about deployments, security, and technologies not commonly taught in school
  • Gain exposure and growth expertise on a wide variety of technologies while delivering projects used by internal and external customers
  • Work closely with Software Development engineers, QA teams, and Project Management teams (depending on project)
  • Perform testing and debugging of applications
  • Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications
  • Write documentation as appropriate
  • Collaborate with peers, engineers, technicians, and external design partners
  • Interact with high-level individual contributors, managers, and program core teams
