A minimum of 10 years of experience in conducting UX research, with a strong focus on digital products and services, is required. Additionally, at least 5 years of experience in managing, mentoring, or coaching UX researchers is necessary. Demonstrated expertise in leading and executing both qualitative and quantitative research end-to-end, including design, recruitment, analysis, and synthesis, is essential. Proven experience in translating research into actionable insights that influence product and business outcomes, along with experience in building research strategy and integrating it into broader product or business roadmaps, is also required. The ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners, including product, design, engineering, data science, legal, regulatory, and medical affairs, is crucial.
The Head of UX Research will lead and elevate the UX Research practice, guiding a team of researchers and championing evidence-based decision-making to ensure user insights are central to digital product and service development. This role involves collaborating with design, product, engineering, and business stakeholders to shape strategy, uncover opportunities, and deliver impact. Responsibilities include inspiring and communicating a vision for UX Research, mentoring and scaling the research team, fostering a culture of curiosity and learning, and identifying/addressing organizational gaps. The Head of UX Research will oversee a portfolio of research projects, ensuring high-quality and rigorous practices that inform product decisions, and translating strategic business questions into actionable research plans. The role also requires modeling inclusive, thoughtful, and ethical leadership, encouraging diverse perspectives, and ensuring equitable practices in team operations and research design.
