About the Internal Audit Team

Internal Audit serves as Monzo’s Third Line of Defence, supporting the company's safe growth. The team is seeking a passionate Head of Professional Practices to manage the Internal Audit Collective's operations efficiently during a period of rapid growth. The Professional Practices team will comprise the Head of Professional Practices, an Internal Audit Manager, and a Data Analyst, reporting to the Chief Internal Audit.

Responsibilities

  • Professional Practices Framework: Own the overarching Professional Practices, Board Reporting, and Quality Assurance Framework for the Group Internal Audit Collective.
  • Methodology Alignment: Ensure Internal Audit Methodology and operations align with IIA Standards and the Internal Audit Code of Practice.
  • Process Improvement: Manage and drive process improvements, change, and innovation in transforming internal audit practices.
  • Data Analytics Framework: Own the Data Analytics framework, including definition and maintenance of standards, audit expectations, and collaboration with data teams. Ensure timely resource allocation for audit portfolios.
  • Framework Evolution: Ensure the Data Analytics framework evolves with the organization and the Internal Audit Collective.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure the framework supporting the Collective’s operations is effective and efficient.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Oversee (and where applicable, own) programs of strategic initiatives within the Internal Audit Collective.
  • Board Reporting: Own the Collective’s Board Reporting process, ensuring timely delivery of Board Committee outputs and relevant Management Information.
  • Quality Assurance: Execute and report on the Internal Audit Quality Assurance program, ensuring timely and efficient feedback for enhancements.
  • Team Support: Support other Internal Audit priorities and initiatives, including talent and performance management, recruitment, professional development, and learning.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as an Internal Audit Professional in fast-moving environments with developing risk and control frameworks.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience managing Internal Audit operations across key domains: Professional Practices, Board Reporting, Quality Assurance, Data Analysis, and Project Management.
  • Skilled in relationship development and effective communication.
