  • Must reside in the United States

  • Must shower on-site, change clothing and footwear before entering the facility (biosecure environment); no jewelry except medical ID, body piercings covered
  • Must be able to perform physical demands: stand majority of shift on concrete floor, walk, sit, use hands to finger/handle/feel objects/tools/controls, reach with hands/arms, balance, stoop, bend over, talk/hear; specific vision abilities; push/pull basket of chicks up to 125 lbs using safe lifting techniques (with or without reasonable accommodation)
  • Previous agricultural or production experience preferred (priority to internal applicants)

Responsibilities

  • Place hatching eggs in properly labeled buggies (15%)
  • Process chicks including: grade, vaccinate (operate robot), weigh chicks, and perform toe trim (70%)
  • Prepare chick boxes, count by-products (5%)
  • Operate macerator (5%)
  • Other duties as assigned: operate high pressure and regular water hose, make and cut vitamin gel, maintain a clean and organized work area (5%)
  • Comply with all safety procedures, biosecurity, and animal welfare guidelines (after training)
  • Work schedule: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday starting at 6:00AM until job complete (averages 35 hours/week, subject to change including holidays)
