Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 3 years of experience designing circuit boards, and 7 years for Senior Hardware Engineers. Experience with FPGA design and Electrical CAD software packages, particularly Altium, is required, along with knowledge of manufacturing processes and AS9100/ISO9001 standards. Familiarity with MIL, DO, and IPC standards is a plus.
The Hardware (Electrical) Engineer will be responsible for creating the hardware configuration of Shift5’s products, including component selection, schematic capture, printed circuit board design/layout, and working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop compact and cost-effective assemblies. They will analyze existing systems to identify flaws or inefficiencies, modify hardware to increase performance, assess customer needs and company standards, build and oversee the assembly of prototypes, test prototypes, design support equipment and cables, identify defects, and estimate cost, reliability, and safety factors.
