Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Physics, Mathematical Sciences, Engineering or Computing discipline to a minimum of 2:2
  • British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
  • Able to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS)

Responsibilities

  • Develop skills in coding and modelling, mathematics, flight dynamics and control theory, utilising tools such as MATLAB/SIMULINK
  • Work alongside other departments to gain knowledge on missile complexities, including propulsion, aerodynamics, seekers, sensors and actuators
  • Broaden technical knowledge of the design and function of complex weapon systems
  • Gain visibility of work from researching futuristic technologies to design teams for current high-profile projects
  • Collaborate with international teams in MBDA's GCN function (e.g., in Paris and Rome)
  • Get involved with integrated navigation (e.g., Terrain Reference Navigation, GPS integration, Image Based Navigation)
  • Contribute to autopilot and control system design and analysis (e.g., dual-mode control, thrust vector control)
  • Develop algorithms for mid-course guidance, terminal guidance, target tracking and selectivity
  • Perform data fusion to combine data from multiple sensors (e.g., radars, seekers, IMUs)
  • Implement AI techniques including neural networks and deep learning to improve GCN algorithms
  • Design autonomous decision-making systems for complex collective missions
