Remote - This role is categorized as remote. This means the successful candidate may be based anywhere in Germany and is not expected to report to a GM worksite unless directed by their manager.

The Business Development Manager is the field representative working with importer and their Retail Partners on growing the GM brands awareness in Europe, sales results and developing the presence of GM products across Europe.

The main areas of responsibility are:

  • All aspects of Sales & Profit Optimization for GM SUV & Pickup Brands in a given market
  • All aspects of Relationship Management for GM SUV & Pickup Brands in a given market
  • All aspects of Supporting the Business Model for GM SUV & Pickup Brands in a given market

Responsibilities

Sales Optimization (60%)

  • Ensure delivery of Sales Volume and contribution margin
  • Implement provided strategies /operational procedures to deliver wholesale sales volume and contribution margin across all channels
  • Maximize wholesales & retail sales volume and market share in given country / area
  • Maximize Retailers Sales Effectiveness in their individual Area of Responsibility
  • Monitor the importers' activity and continuously improve dealer's results by visiting their facilities
  • Leading the control of dealer's stock level, stock aging and financial hold to optimize the Sales volume
  • Execute flawless new product launches in his AOR, in line with GM SUV & Pickup Europe strategy
  • Work with importers and their retail network on sales process and local promotion, improve their sales process and customers' satisfaction
  • Collect and provide in real time information regarding competitors activities (i.e. campaigns, launches, change in market approach) industry trends, new commers, to GM Europe HQ to enable swift reactions to the market’s need

Relationship Management (30%)

  • Responsible for maintenance and development of business relationship with importers and their retail partners in a given country / area, with additional focus on distribution processes and dealer marketing & PR
  • Active role during the implementation of Retail Network Strategies and CI roll-out
  • Responsible for protection of GM SUV & Pickup’s financial interests in dealings with retail partners
  • Liaison for all the function in the HQ related to the specific market that he/she is responsible for

Support Business Model (10%)

  • Support and Leverage GM Europe functions for importers and their retail partners regarding GM SUV & Pickup activities including Sales Operations / Marketing / Network Development/PR

Knowledge (theoretical know-how)

  • Good understanding of European IVA SUV & Pickup market and peculiarities of this type of business
  • Strong operational background, multifunctional experience in field
  • Strong product- and commercial knowledge of Automotive Sales, Marketing & Network functions and processes; local automotive industry Market

Experience/Education

  • BA or University degree in Economy or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an international Sales and Marketing operation in a field position

Languages

  • Fluent in English & German languages both written and spoken
  • Any other European language is an advantage (i.e. French, Dutch, Swedish, Spanish, Italian)
