Requirements

Candidates should possess a significant understanding of information management, including relational databases, GIS, and GPS. They must have a proven ability to solve complicated technical and business workflow problems, along with strong analytical and interpretation skills. A Bachelor/College degree in Geography or an equivalent is required, and experience working with ESRI’s ArcGIS software and extensions is essential. Experience with pipelines is a plus, and familiarity with GPS processing tools is also desired.

Responsibilities

The GIS Data Analyst will interpret and digitize pipeline engineering drawings, analyze and interpret client-provided data for mapping and visualization, process raw GPS data collected in the field, perform correlation of pipeline mapping with inspection data, continually improve mapping accuracy, produce maps based on data and inspection, create geodatabases, and work closely with project teams to understand project scope, obtain information, and resolve issues. They will also manage and improve existing GIS databases, leverage custom scripting to automate processes, and communicate data discrepancies to both management and field crews.
