  • Completed engineering in the areas of Environmental, Industrial, Chemical, Electromechanical or related
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in related processes

Responsibilities

  • Manage the programs, processes and training related to Safety, Occupational Health, Environment, Property Security, and the business continuity plan
  • Enable the administration of the activities of the personnel under his control and take responsibility for the effectiveness of the actions taken in the process of health, environment and safety
  • Ensure compliance with desired health, environmental and safety objectives
  • Be accountable for the effectiveness of processes and personnel under their control
  • Influence with leadership in the design and development of procedures involving BorgWarner personnel to reduce incidents, accidents, injuries and occupational illnesses
  • Ensure the promotion of awareness and detection of HSE training needs
  • Be Lead Auditor for ISO 14001 and GSSF (Global Star Safety Framework)
  • Influence risk analysis, ergonomics, hazardous and non-hazardous waste minimization, ISO 14001 and Global Star Safety Framework (GSSF) Environmental Management System and raise a high level of employee engagement
  • Provide support to GSSF and ISO 14001 champions and cross-functional team in the investigation of incidents, accidents and occupational illnesses, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
  • Oversee compliance with the Facility Policy in terms of Safety, Health and Environment
  • Stop production when it poses a risk to safety, health and/or the environment
  • Create a culture of empowerment for all BorgWarner employees to stop an operation when it poses a risk of Safety, Health and/or Environmental issues
  • Be responsible for compliance with CTPAT guidelines in the operational control of entry and exit of employees, visitors, suppliers and contractors, materials and equipment
  • Influence budget management by securing the necessary resources
  • Manage resources (human, financial, materials, equipment, tools and other inputs) required for the implementation and operation of the Environment and Safety Systems
  • Ensure that new projects, their implementation and start-up comply with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements and policies
  • Establish and maintain effective employee relations at all levels
  • Incorporate standardization tools and principles, 5S, TPM, poka-yokes and continuous improvement into daily work
  • Influence internal communication on EHS issues
