Requirements

  • Previous maintenance experience in at least two of the following areas: Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance (including 3-phase wiring, 460/220V, 110VAC, 24V wiring, PLCs, I/O sensors like PTs/CTs/4-20mA/low voltage/RTDs/thermocouples), Welding (AC/DC stick/MIG/TIG/torch brazing), Plumbing (PVC/CPVC/compression/flare/sweating copper/threaded pipe), Conveyor/Auger maintenance, Pneumatic controls and air tools, Hydraulics (basic understanding of controls and control valves)
  • Ability to perform work involving hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, conveyor maintenance, 3-phase wiring, AC/DC control wiring, welding, and pneumatic systems
  • Availability to work ALL shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management to resolve mechanical failures and read manuals to repair equipment safely
  • Willingness and ability to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms
  • Willingness and ability to stand/walk 12-hour shifts on hard floors
  • Willingness and ability to work in all facility environments (e.g., Harvest, Cut Converting, Rendering, Load-out freezer) with temperatures from -30 to +90 degrees
  • Ability to occasionally lift 0-61 lbs
  • For certain skilled positions (e.g., Instruments, Projects, Chillers/Engine Room/Refrigeration, PSM Coordinator), pass HAZMAT and/or PFT (Pulmonary Function Test); mechanical knowledge/background preferred
  • Provide proof of authorization to work legally in the U.S
  • Pass urinalysis screening (post-offer health assessment)
  • If previously employed with Tyson, meet 90-day waiting period

Responsibilities

  • Keep machinery running to maintain continuous production
  • Repair and maintain operating conditions of machinery and industrial equipment used in pork processing
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day operational problems in the facility
  • Set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery
  • Complete daily required documentation
