Requirements
- Valid State Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Requirement (18 years of age, no DUI/DWI within the last 12 months; official MVR checked post-offer)
- Previous general maintenance experience or equivalent school training documented in work history/resume
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems (motor wiring, control wiring, run conduit, pull wiring)
- Knowledge of NEC, electronics, PLC, computers
- Ability to pass all mechanical knowledge and hands-on tests within 30 days
- Ability to read, write, and have basic knowledge of math
- Ability to read manuals written in English
- Good attendance work record
- Understand and agree to follow Safety Rules (e.g., Lockout/Tagout) and comply with OSHA standards
- No beards allowed for safety reasons (to use Self-Contained Breathing Air Packs)
- Good hand-eye coordination; capable of moving equipment/machinery over 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, turn, stoop, twist, climb ladders, reach, lift, and work overhead
- Ability to walk, stand, or sit for the duration of the shift; move freely throughout plant (indoors/outdoors) over/around equipment, people, obstacles
- Tolerate climates from very cold to very hot, very wet to very dry
- Communicate effectively, get along well with others, and work closely with maintenance personnel
- Willing to work other shifts when necessary and perform other duties as tasked
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical duties and adjustments as required by supervisor
- Operate equipment including multimeter, megometers, ground testing equipment, various small hand tools, drill press, welders, cutting tools, and all associated shop equipment
- Work on and inspect equipment involving physical demands
- Train in and use Self-Contained Breathing Air Packs
- Receive and pass along information concerning the job with other maintenance personnel
- Observe all Tyson policies and procedures; be safe
- All other duties as requested by supervisor or administration
