Requirements

  • 6 months work experience with one employer in the last 24 months (documented on application or resume)
  • Forklift certification upon hire
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery
  • Willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willing and able to perform heavy physical labor (walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling) in sub-freezing temperatures for long periods
  • Willing to use personal protective equipment (steel-toed work boots, ear plugs, hair net, hard hat, beard net if applicable, smock, freezer coats, freezer gloves)
  • No cell phones or jewelry on factory floor

Responsibilities

  • Unload raw materials and finished goods from trucks
  • Move raw materials and finished goods to warehouse storage
  • Ensure proper rotation of all products and raw materials (FIFO - First In First Out by manufacture or Use/Freeze by date)
  • Pick finished goods and sample goods per order forms
  • Record quantities picked and code dates on Picking Tickets
  • Ensure all out-bound trailers are clean before loading and cooling units are set to proper temperature
  • Verify unit count of all items loaded
  • Perform quality control: no damaged product sent out, no damaged raw material accepted; report all damages to supervisor
  • Operate forklift, pallet jacks, and yard trucks
  • Complete receiving documentation on all in-bound and returned product
  • Rotate and clean finished goods coolers/freezers daily
  • Communicate with operators from other shifts
  • Clean and maintain work area
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
  • Provide on-the-job training to new team members
  • Other duties as assigned
