Requirements
- Must have completed Grade 12 or equivalent
- Forklift certification acquired through Company sponsored training program
- Demonstrates ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Ability to complete reports accurately and legibly
- Good communication skills
- Team player, strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work night shift (10PM to 6AM)
Responsibilities
- Perform a pre-shift inspection of the Forklift
- Complete pre-shift Daily Inspection form and hand-in at the start of shift
- Operate equipment/machinery following all Safety procedures
- Load and unload trucks (Tautliner, van, container, Customer pick up etc.)
- Report any equipment malfunctions to Shipping Lead Hands/Supervisors
- Monitor Quality of material and product being handled and report any deficiencies to Shipping Lead Hands/Supervisors
- Ensure that material (Piked orders) is stored in appropriate/designated staging areas
- Ensure accuracy of material supplied to Customers
- Maintain housekeeping/cleaning of equipment and around assigned work area
- Participate in Department and Company meetings as applicable
- Participate in mid and year-end inventory count if needed
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, as applicable
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping Lead Hands/Supervisors
