Two years mechanical/machinery maintenance experience or related technical school certification
Experience with forklift and material handling equipment maintenance and repair a plus
Proficiency in the use of mechanical tools required
Must be able to listen to and visually inspect machinery in order to diagnose maintenance needs
Ability to read schematics
Must be able to safely drive all material handling equipment
Good communication skills, written and verbal, to communicate and/or document maintenance needs and status of projects
Must report for work regularly and on time, as scheduled
Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s) and work well with others
Must be able to work well under pressure, and is able to organize and prioritize work assignments, and meet established deadlines
Responsibilities
Perform basic and/or non-routine preventative and corrective maintenance; maintain and repair machinery and equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jacks, material handling equipment, etc.) within the distribution facility
Troubleshoot, diagnose, test and inspect (audibly and visually) equipment to determine need for repair
Dismantle, install and repair parts, electrical apparatus, mechanical systems and/or components of material handling equipment
Assemble and test equipment to ensure correction of necessary repairs and maintenance
Maintain a safe working environment
Assist with basic building maintenance as required
Assist other mechanics with complex general repair as requested
Responsible for the adherence of all maintenance policies and procedures at assigned location
