Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, or related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in event/exhibition floor planning or related design work
  • Strong CAD proficiency with ability to produce accurate and detailed layouts
  • Knowledge of venue specifications, building codes, and safety regulations
  • Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Technical Skills: Produces complete, accurate layouts with minimal oversight; introduces improvements in design processes
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Resolves moderately complex layout challenges, balancing requirements and constraints
  • Collaboration & Communication: Acts as main point of contact with mid-level stakeholders; communicates effectively across teams
  • Leadership & Development: Mentors junior staff; begins developing coaching and project ownership skills

Responsibilities

  • Independently create, manage, and finalize floor plans for small to mid-scale events
  • Optimize layouts for attendee experience, traffic flow, and exhibitor visibility
  • Coordinate with sales, operations, and venue teams to ensure requirements are captured and met
  • Provide input on design improvements, technical feasibility, and event space utilization
  • Conduct site checks or virtual walkthroughs to validate layouts
  • Train and mentor Level 1 designers on tools, processes, and best practices
