Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED required
  • At least 2 years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis with hydraulic and diesel repair experience
  • Graduation from an automotive trade school with diesel engine experience is highly desirable
  • Licenses/Certifications: Must possess (incomplete in description)

Responsibilities

  • Service and repair boom/pedestal assemblies including troubleshooting equipment; inspect cables, chains, rods, sheave liners, monitoring system, fiberglass components, turntable; remove/replace reduction gearboxes; inspect pins, bushings, bearings; load test boom assemblies
  • Service and repair hydraulic systems including troubleshooting; inspect, remove, replace hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, accumulator; remove/replace swivel collector block
  • Service and repair heating and ventilation systems including diagnose A/C problems; pressure test A/C; check leaks; check internal controls; replace compressor, A/C clutch assembly, seals, refrigerant hose, condenser, receiver dryer, evaporator core
  • Troubleshoot and repair winch assemblies
  • Service and repair steering systems including power steering pump and manual steering gearbox
  • Service and repair air brake systems including air compressors, brake chambers, control valves
  • Service and repair hydraulic and electric braking systems including inspect/repair master cylinder; test power unit/vacuum supply; inspect power boost; repair power brake system; service/repair antilock brake system
  • Inspect and service differentials, power dividers, transmission assemblies including manual clutch, transmissions, transfer cases, transaxles, automatic transmissions
  • Service and repair fuel and exhaust systems including computer controls; test/repair diesel fuel pump; inspect/service intake/turbo; service/repair fuel injection (gas/diesel); inspect/service governors
  • Assist others in diagnosing complex problems
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment; perform incidental duties
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in clean/orderly condition
  • Maintain records and submit reports as required
  • Attend/participate in training; assist in training others
  • Perform less skilled work as assigned
  • Report irregularities and abnormal conditions
  • Assist employees of equal or higher classification
  • Direct work of assigned assistants
