Requirements
- Drivers License - Licensing Board upon hire
- EMR - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) active license in the state of practice upon hire
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Preferred: High School or GED Equivalent
- Ability to work rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends (PRN, varied shifts per department policy)

Responsibilities
- Accountable for basic life support service under the direction of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and makes emergency response calls in accordance with established state standards, standing orders, and department protocols
- Serves as either driver of the emergency vehicle or as a secondary patient attendant under the direction of an EMT
- Carries out all functions within scope of practice in a confident, high-quality, and safe manner
- Demonstrates sound judgment in stress situations and provides emotional stability to patients and affected individuals
- Responds to calls in a timely manner
- Maintains technical skills within expected standard of practice
