Requirements

Candidates should possess 5+ years of professional experience in software development, demonstrating excellence in processing the physical inputs and outputs of systems, proficiency in Python, object-oriented programming, and GitHub, and experience using an oscilloscope to debug input and output problems. A Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, is required.

Responsibilities

The Firmware Engineer will characterize the performance of peripheral interfaces and design and implement improvements, discover how to use new peripherals and extend the functions of existing peripherals in the robotic system, collaborate with hardware and software teams to design APIs between peripherals and Pickle’s platform using Python, develop Python scripts for automation, testing, and data collection, contribute to the improvement of development processes and participate in thorough design and code reviews, and be on-site at least 3 days per week at Pickle Robot’s offices in Cambridge and Charlestown Massachusetts.
