Requirements

  • Knowledge of legal/regulatory and litigation/procedural requirements for Financial Lines
  • Specialist knowledge of Financial Lines technical claims topics
  • Experience in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration
  • Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation
  • Lateral thinking and the ability to problem solve and develop new ideas to improve working practices
  • Strong communication, time management, administrative and report-writing skills

Responsibilities

  • Handle and investigate complex Financial Lines claims using a proactive, best practice approach in line with AIG's quality standards
  • Actively promote and demonstrate the principles of ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ in claims handling
  • Proactively identify and review suspect/fraudulent claims, dealing with them in line with guidelines
  • Maintain regular contact with internal stakeholders, brokers, experts, and external lawyers
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external customers and act as a point of referral
  • Provide support to Team Managers, including deputizing in their absence
  • Assist with monitoring market/industry practices in claims handling
  • Collaborate with underwriting colleagues to improve products using claims experience gained
