Requirements

University or college degree in business or accounting (ideal)
Significant in-depth knowledge of accounting software and journal entry processes
Experience using Great Plains or similar financial software
Familiarity with standard accounting practices such as IFRS and US GAAP
Advanced Excel and typing skills
5+ years of Senior Finance related job experience
Motivated, energetic, detail-oriented individual who can meet demands of a flexible, fast-paced Finance department while maintaining a positive attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work across all levels of the organization
Ability to challenge the status quo, generate ideas, and help implement processes for continuous improvement
Ability to interact frequently with corporate accounting, finance, and tax teams
Ability to travel to and within Canada and the United States (some travel required)
Location: Remote (Ontario, Canada)

Responsibilities

Complete day-to-day accounting, including monthly close of multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Prepare internal financial reports and scorecards monthly, along with additional quarterly and annual reporting requirements
Oversee and review accounts payable and accounts receivable functions performed by the Staff Accountant
Negotiate select supplier relationships and contracts
Manage workflows and reporting for sales tax for multiple locales
Implement new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and ensure tight internal controls
Facilitate or participate in ad hoc projects and requests
Report to the General Manager and support the growing needs of Andar Software
