Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner
- Experience in Family medicine or primary care practice preferred
- Active Family Nurse Practitioner license in good standing
- Minimum of two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent
- Complete the DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment
- Depending on the market, proficient in both speaking and writing in additional languages (e.g., Spanish)
Responsibilities
- Provide primary and family evidenced-based care, including accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning
- Provide holistic, evidenced-based care, including education and treatment for pregnancy prevention, STI prevention, and safer sex practices
- Order and administer immunizations and injections (e.g., COVID-19, influenza, TB, Depo) and provide evidence-based patient/parent vaccine counseling and education
- Perform administrative duties, including opening/closing the clinic, inventory, patient follow-up, verifying insurance, collecting payment, and maintaining a clean environment
- Handle patient appointments and perform routine examinations to ensure positive patient health outcomes
- Speak with patients about healthy lifestyle choices, complete diagnostic tests to diagnose and treat injuries or illnesses, and coordinate with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive care plans
- Encourage patients to become active participants in their healthcare through services such as health screenings, behavioral health and wellness, and chronic condition management
