Freelance Subtitling Translator (English to Bahasa Indonesian)
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced freelance translators with a proven track record in subtitling for the TV and Movie industry. This role is for English into Bahasa Indonesian translation and offers a remote, contract-based opportunity within our global localization network.
Requirements
- Native proficiency in Bahasa Indonesian.
- Strong command of the English language.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas of the entertainment industry:
- Localization QC
- Audiovisual translation
- Subtitling
- Experience with subtitle editing software and web/cloud technology.
- Deep understanding of closed captioning and subtitling, including common failures and technical challenges.
- Solid understanding of nuances in subtitle and dub translations.
- Working knowledge of cultural differences and best practices for subtitles and dub audio creation.
- University degree or equivalent professional experience in the translation field.
- Ability to quickly adapt to workflow/process changes and updates.
- Great attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, analytical, and multitasking skills.
- Signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is required prior to starting the recruitment process.
Responsibilities
- Translate and subtitle content from English to Bahasa Indonesian for the TV and Movie industry.
- Ensure accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and adherence to industry standards.
- Utilize subtitle editing software and web/cloud technology effectively.
- Understand and address technical challenges related to subtitling and closed captioning.
