Proficiency in navigating Linux/Unix systems and pinpointing problem root causes
Understanding of how the Internet and Web applications work under the hood
Expertise in metrics, logs, distributed tracing, and observability
Experience with configuration management frameworks such as Ansible
Experience maintaining applications in a production environment
Self-driven, able to work with little supervision towards team or company goals
Humble and motivated by learning and teaching others
Comfortable with DevOps methodologies and best practices
Very comfortable with English (feels like second nature)
Good experience using AWS cloud provider
Experience setting up CI/CD, AWS networking, and accounts
Experience with containers and orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes and Docker
Solid understanding of CI/CD independent of tools (e.g., GitHub, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, or CloudFormation
Experience with monitoring tools (preferably OpenTelemetry and/or Grafana; DataDog or CloudWatch also options)
Experience with Helm Charts
Experience with automation scripting languages such as Bash, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
Some experience managing a production system
Nice to have: experience installing and managing OpenTelemetry/Grafana, Traefik, Redis Cluster, and Kafka

Responsibilities

Work as part of an agile project team on all infrastructure pieces of a system
Write code to provision infrastructure
Drive root cause analysis
Guide the team on DevOps methodologies and best practices
Maintain close contacts with client-side executives (e.g., CEO, COO)
Engage in national and international travel as needed (0%-15% estimated)
