- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years claims handling experience or comparable experience
- Experience with multi-line property and casualty claims and wind/hail claims
- Proficient with Xactimate software
- Above-average communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to resolve complex issues
- Ability to organize and interpret data
- Ability to meet the physical demands required for the position, including carrying and climbing a ladder
- Familiar with insurance coverage by studying insurance policies, endorsements, and forms
- Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Investigate and assemble facts related to claims
- Determine policy coverage and evaluate the amount of loss
- Analyze legal liability and pay or deny losses
- Work towards the resolution of claims, potentially attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials
- Ensure timely and accurate claim payments
- Frequent travel up to 21 days at a time, with short notice to catastrophe locations (potentially out of state)
