Environmental Manager

Position Overview
The Environmental Manager will serve as the primary point of contact and provide essential environmental compliance site support to managers and employees at Terminal locations across Virginia, Maryland, the Carolinas, and Georgia. This role is crucial for ensuring that all terminals adhere to environmental regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of environmental permits.
- Conduct compliance reporting and perform environmental audits.
- Provide training to personnel on environmental policies and procedures.
- Support Terminal facilities in all matters related to hazardous waste management, air permit compliance, and stormwater management/reporting.
- Coordinate Emergency Planning and Community Right To Know (EPCRA) filings, including annual Tier 2 and Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reports.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
- Oversee environmental consultants conducting remediation activities as necessary.
- Develop and track budgets associated with environmental compliance.
- Interface with regulatory authorities and third parties on behalf of the company.
- Manage the tracking and completion of legal and other environmental requirements.
- Travel to Terminals to provide site support, including coaching and training for environmental programs.
- Monitor Environmental Management Information Systems.
- Participate in auditing programs to ensure locations conform to legal and other environmental requirements.
- Manage the preparation and submission of regulatory reports.
- Review and approve regulatory submittals.
- Remain current on State and Federal cleanup regulations and pending legislation.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience working with environmental compliance regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Strong time management skills.
