About the Role

Harbor is seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Entry-Level Research Law Librarian to join our research team. This role supports attorneys and staff by providing timely and accurate document and known item retrieval. The current position is fully embedded with client law firms supporting 8:00am – 5:00pm Pacific time (PST). The ideal candidate is passionate about information management and eager to grow within a dynamic law firm environment. This is a fully remote position in the US that must be able to support the PST schedule and hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, prioritize and respond to requests while coordinating efforts with team members and client's law library department
  • Procure known-item document retrieval of journal articles, book chapters/sections, and other legal and non-legal documents
  • Pull cases, dockets, and other court documents via the most efficient and cost-effective resources
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of passwords for electronic resources and forgotten password requests
  • Support large data projects/requests, library department initiatives, and other projects as assigned
  • Provide excellent customer service

Qualifications

  • College degree required
  • At least one year of previous law library experience
  • Familiarity with a ticketing intake system
  • Familiarity with legal research resources, including but not limited to, Westlaw Find & Print, Lexis Get & Print, HeinOnline, Pacer, CNS
  • Familiarity navigating state court websites
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly effective organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Computer proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced customer-service oriented environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
  • Experience with citation management tools and legal writing formats.
