Requirements

  • 10–14 years of experience in automotive infotainment software, with 3+ years in a managerial or technical lead role
  • Prior exposure to automotive audio and tuner systems (implied from role context)

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of audio features, audio source management and audio post-processing features such as Tone Control, Balance/Fader, Parametric EQ, Loudness, Volume, Limiter, SDVC, and DRC
  • Oversee tuner system development, including AM/FM, DAB, and DRM functionalities (station scanning, service following, blending, and RDS)
  • Manage audio and tuner signal chain integration within Android Audio Framework on Qualcomm SoCs (SA8255 / SA8155 / SA8295)
  • Drive DSP algorithm implementation and optimization on Hexagon QDSP6/ HiFi DSP cores
  • Collaborate with system and hardware teams for audio routing, amplifier interfacing, and AFE configurations
  • Ensure performance optimization (MIPS, memory, latency) and real-time validation across all modules
  • Own the integration of Audio HAL, AFE, ACDB, and AudioReach frameworks
  • Define and maintain the audio and tuner signal routing architecture across Android layers and DSP
  • Coordinate with platform vendors and internal teams for feature integration and BSP alignment
  • Support voice assistant, media, and navigation audio coexistence within the infotainment system
  • Plan, track, and deliver audio and tuner software milestones in alignment with OEM schedules
  • Ensure process adherence to ASPICE (SWE1–SWE6, SYS5) and ISO 26262 Functional Safety standards
  • Drive CI/CD automation, static analysis, and continuous validation across releases
  • Manage issue triage, NOK analysis, and ensure zero critical defects at customer delivery
  • Maintain project KPIs including quality, defect closure rate, and milestone achievement
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team of DSP engineers, tuner developers, HAL integrators, and verification engineers (10–15 members)
  • Define clear roles, deliverables, and growth paths for team members
  • Build competency in Android Audio Framework, DSP optimization, and tuner system development through targeted upskilling
  • Conduct performance reviews, mentoring, and recognition programs to ensure strong team engagement
  • Act as the technical and delivery interface for OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and platform partners (Qualcomm, NXP, TI, etc.)
  • Participate in customer reviews, design discussions, and risk assessments
  • Provide regular status updates, risk mitigations, and technical documentation to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support new program bids (RFQs) by contributing to technical feasibility, resource estimation, and architecture inputs
