Engineering Manager, Authentication Enablement

Position Overview

• Salary: $190,000 - $258,000 USD (Annual base salary)

1Password is seeking an Engineering Manager to join the Authentication Enablement team. This team is responsible for scaling the authentication service to meet the growing needs of our business. The role focuses on driving the delivery of projects, creating roadmaps, and fostering a positive and productive team environment. This role offers the opportunity to work with a team at the intersection of every customer interaction with 1Password, contributing to a safer and simpler digital future.

Requirements

• Several years of experience managing a team of engineers.
• Significant experience with cloud-native infrastructure and backend technologies.
• Ability to “talk the talk” with engineers to help them solve complex technical issues.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment.
• Capable of driving the delivery of projects and creating roadmaps for future work.
• Experience managing a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Set and support strategic direction for the Authentication team.
• Drive alignment and be responsible for the results of the team in support of broader company objectives.
• Collaborate with senior individual contributors to create an engaging technical vision for the team.
• Work with cross-functional partners to define the best solutions for our customers (internal and external).
• Scope and plan key deliverables for projects and initiatives with the team.
• Drive execution with an emphasis on iterations, deliverables, quality, velocity, and communication.
• Provide technical leadership to developers both in your team and across the engineering organization.
• Coach individual contributors to help them reach their full potential.
• Recruit and retain top-tier talent in a fast-growing environment.
• Continue scaling a highly specialized engineering team by working with a team of Engineering Managers to continuously refine hiring, onboarding, and development processes.
