Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. (required)
  • Demonstrated expertise in powertrain fundamentals, with hands-on experience in engine dynamometer development, validation, and calibration testing—including test specifications and setups. (required)
  • 4+ years of experience as a development and/or validation engineer supporting engine projects from initial development through to production. (required)
  • Experienced in using industry-standard vehicle and dynamometer data acquisition and analysis tools such as INCA and Vector, along with hands-on expertise in engine instrumentation—including strain gauges and thermocouples—for both vehicle and test cell applications. (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical peers without direct authority. (required)

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and integration of the Harvester gasoline engine underpinning the Scout Traveler SUV and Terra pickup
  • Lead the overall hardware DVP for the engine and engine hardware, including prototype through production sample planning for each development phase
  • Develop and execute test plans together with internal group partners, suppliers, and vehicle testing team to demonstrate that vehicle performance targets can be met
  • Ensure that required development tools and equipment are available on-time to support internal testing
  • Author test procedures and publish as Scout engineering standard
  • Develop Scout powertrain requirements derived from vehicle-level specifications, followed by formal documentation of these requirements within the Scout systems
