Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or environmental science, and demonstrate a strong understanding of building science, decarbonization, energy-efficient technologies, energy codes and standards, and energy modeling. Knowledge of HVAC and industrial systems, grid harmonization technologies, demand response, and distributed generation is particularly desirable, as is familiarity with data science techniques and programming languages like Python, Ruby, Perl, or R.

Responsibilities

As an Energy Engineer I, you will analyze zero-carbon and energy-efficient technologies within the context of energy policy, including developing product technical potential and feasibility assessments, evaluating energy savings and cost-effectiveness, ensuring code compliance, and identifying market barriers. You will perform building energy modeling using tools like EnergyPlus and conduct statistical analyses on results, and you will contribute to crafting long-term market transformation strategies to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient measures. Additionally, you will support senior engineering staff in developing product testing plans, overseeing testing regimens, and analyzing test results for standards updates, and you will write reports on technical topics related to codes and standards.
