Requirements

  • Provide automation support for operating areas across site and/or capital projects
  • Ensure reliable and compliant control applications and systems in manufacturing
  • Serve as technical expert to influence and implement process control agenda, business priorities, and compliance
  • Demonstrate collaboration, creativity, and resilience in dynamic project delivery, startup (2025-2028), organization building, and GMP operations support

Responsibilities

  • Mentor process control team, including design, controls philosophy, implementation, and commissioning
  • Develop and implement the Automation Engineering Project Plan
  • Technically lead and oversee work of Site Area leads and System Integrators; review Functional Requirements, Design Specifications, automation hardware, application software, Test Specifications
  • Lead/participate in design reviews, Site system hardware reviews, and attend equipment and software FATs
  • Lead a team of automation engineers supporting commissioning
  • Provide periodic status updates to Project Management
  • Devise functional requirements and process control strategies for control systems in collaboration with Automation System Administrators
  • Perform Automation Engineering activities including design, tuning, and troubleshooting of control loops, devices, and hardware
  • Implement and support electronic systems (e.g., plant historians) for process automation production data
  • Maintain validated state of site control system hardware per Lilly quality standards, including validation strategies and documentation
  • Provide automation support for capital projects, including new product introductions
  • Promote use of automation to improve productivity and operational efficiency
