Requirements

Knowledge of transmission line engineering principles through education and/or demonstrated project experience
Ability to plan and scope T-Line projects
Ability to communicate with stakeholders
Knowledge of structure type selection
Ability to evaluate geotechnical reports
Experience designing multiple foundation types
Knowledge of wire tension and clearance evaluation
Proficiency in PLS-CADD design
Willingness to perform field visits (~10% travel)
Fundamental understanding of standards, codes, and regulations relevant to the area of assignment
Familiarity with pertinent equipment, materials, systems, and business processes
Working knowledge of appropriate policies and procedures
Ability to coordinate work activities of others for routine engineering tasks
Ability to provide input to routine project planning documents related to scheduling
Understanding of scheduling techniques (CPM, PERT, flow charts, etc.) for budget and planning activities
Ability to monitor project status and recommend actions
Ability to prepare cost estimates using established standards
Understanding of workflow for routine engineering projects
Ability to actively seek out information and apply basic techniques to solve routine engineering problems
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong interpersonal skills, including networking, teamwork, and building relationships
Ability to assist in preparation of reports and technical papers

Responsibilities

Perform transmission line engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient, and economic manner
Assist higher-level engineers in handling well-defined portions of more complex problems and analyses
Coordinate work activities of others as required to resolve routine engineering tasks
Provide input to routine project planning documents related to scheduling
Monitor project status and recommend actions accordingly
Prepare cost estimates using established standards
Accomplish work according to plans and schedules established by higher-level employees
Actively seek out information and understanding of engineering problems and solution techniques
Apply basic techniques to perform analysis associated with routine technical problems
Use initiative in looking for opportunities and presenting new ideas and approaches
Assist and participate in the preparation of reports and technical papers
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and present ideas clearly
Listen to and understand instructions, requesting clarification as required
