Requirements

  • Strong understanding of the financial products that the Banking & Markets business offers, and the potential conflicts of interest that Compliance function is expected to manage
  • Understanding of the objectives of the Compliance function, and awareness of the major financial regulations that Northern Trust is required to comply with
  • Ability to create useful and impactful Management Information from compliance monitoring data available, to demonstrate oversight
  • Excellent communication and problem analysis skills
  • Proficiency with Office 365 application, including Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint or other available technology platforms
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail, and initiative to improve existing processes
  • Ability to operate effectively as part of a global team, working collaboratively with regional and global stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple demands and changing priorities
  • Experience of effectiveness reviews and optimization projects

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the implementation of the global and regional Compliance Program for the EMEA Banking & Markets, including monitoring, testing compliance frameworks and executing against action plans
  • Liaising and maintaining excellent working relationships with stakeholders of all levels, providing assistance on compliance matters
  • Identifying and documenting compliance breaches where applicable
  • Representing compliance in relevant governance forums and committees
  • Active participation in EMEA Compliance team initiatives, and helping to develop the compliance culture within Northern Trust
  • Working in partnership with risk, compliance and controls team colleagues regionally / globally, including sharing of information and knowledge
  • Developing and executing compliance related projects
