Candidates should possess 5+ years of extensive, current experience in embedded systems development, with strong C/C++ skills and security experience, along with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. They should have proven experience designing and implementing embedded security strategy and features for products from concept to mass production.
The Embedded Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure embedded software for Sauron’s high-end residential security hardware systems, implementing security architectures including secure boot, encryption, and hardware root of trust, performing threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing, developing and implementing policies for secure edge hardware firmware updates, and ensuring end-to-end security compliance of Sauron’s systems. They will also collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams, manage project timelines, and communicate status to stakeholders.
