Responsibilities

  • Directs work of Helpers, Electricians, Leadmen, Area Foremen, and Foremen
  • Lays out and plans work in advance, adhering to job schedules and specifications
  • Sets up the job office, equipment trailers, and ensures permits, labor notices, safety rules, and regulatory postings are in place
  • Ensures safety barricades, lights, tools are secure, and good housekeeping practices are maintained
  • Maintains a productive working relationship with the Project Manager/Procurement Manager/Owner, seeking assistance with scheduling and change orders
  • Attends pre-construction and construction meetings, taking notes and consulting with the PM to resolve potential issues
  • Ensures proper execution and indication of change orders on as-built plans
  • Assists Management in estimating percent of completion and labor costs, notifying them of unforeseen problems
  • Maintains good relationships with inspectors, architects, subcontractors, and other key project personnel
  • Creates short-term interval schedules and pre-task plans
  • Schedules job-site inspections, completes and maintains company files, submits time sheets and PTO requests, and coordinates delivery of materials
  • Participates in job meetings, coordinates with other trades, and assists owner representatives
  • Supervises the installation, alteration, repair, replacement, and maintenance of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment
