Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Comfortable interpreting PLC ladder logic programs
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance inspections and electrical current tests
  • Ability to train and qualify individuals in Maintenance positions
  • Knowledge of 480/3 phase electrical systems
  • Ability to run conduit
  • Ability to pull wire up to 500kV or higher

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical parts of industrial equipment
  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components
  • Install circuit breaker panels, switches, schematic circuit diagrams, single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, ladder, and logic diagrams
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test equipment or software, applying knowledge of functional operation of electronic units and systems
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems
  • Calibrate testing instruments and install or repair equipment to prescribed specifications
  • Troubleshoot MCC buckets
  • Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed
  • Consult with operators, supervisors, or engineers to plan layout of equipment or resolve problems in system operation or maintenance
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts
  • Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors
  • Monitor and maintain production equipment as assigned
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and provide corrective action on all machines with full Tech support
  • Disassemble machines prior to maintenance work
  • Reassemble machines after completion of repair or maintenance work
  • Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and detect problems
  • Inspect or test damaged machine parts, mark defective areas, or advise supervisors of repair needs
  • Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, hydraulic, and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • Follow all safety standards and observe local, state, and national electrical-code regulations
