Requirements

  • Completion of annual training and/or IEC Instructor Certification course(s)
  • Proficiency in using the IEC National Curriculum
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to develop a syllabus and speak to groups
  • Developed classroom management skills for maintaining order and discipline
  • Knowledge of Electrical Safety Procedures, including eye protection and proper lockout/tagout procedures

Responsibilities

  • Deliver PowerPoint presentations, visual aids, and partner member training utilizing the IEC National Curriculum
  • Develop lesson plans to ensure all learning objectives are covered in each class
  • Conduct hands-on learning exercises related to the IEC National Curriculum
  • Provide technical support and supervision to apprentices
  • Communicate effectively with students, helping them develop good study habits
  • Complete administrative work on time, including grade submissions and attendance records
  • Attend instructor meetings as required (monthly and annually)
  • Prepare and conduct hands-on learning exercises
  • Enforce Electrical Safety Procedures
  • Provide extra help to students outside of class time, as needed
  • Complete other duties as required and seek assistance when needed
