Requirements
Applicable experience in 5kV through 345kV substation design in accordance with associated IEEE/ANSI standards
Professional proficiency in subject matter and experience associated with electric distribution and transmission substations
Ability to organize engineering projects, work to a schedule, be assigned to multiple projects of varying degrees of complexity, and follow through on all assignments from Scoping through Energization and As-Building
Ability to prioritize project work for several projects occurring concurrently under budget and time constraints

Ability to work hybrid schedule (at least three days in office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, up to five days if needed)
Responsibilities
Perform engineering assignments requiring professional proficiency associated with electric distribution and transmission substations
Act as project engineer for substation project assignments, leading engineering design effort, developing solutions, ensuring quality of deliverables, managing engineering schedule, coordinating other engineering disciplines and contract engineers, and coordinating with procurement and construction personnel
Define concept, scope, and detailed engineering aspects of substation and switching station projects
Support preparation and development of project cost estimates and schedules
Support preparation of capital project budget authorization documents
Conduct engineering studies associated with design and application of substation equipment and materials
Work closely with Engineering Design and Drafting group to prepare, review, and issue engineering drawings for Capital and Expense projects
Ensure Eversource transmission and distribution systems are designed to high quality standards providing safe, reliable, competitively priced, and environmentally sound electric service
Act as technical project team leader, applying standard engineering techniques on complex projects
Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior engineers to develop their technical skills
Provide electrical discipline leadership, including interdisciplinary coordination and scheduling
Responsible for physical design of substations including bus and equipment layouts, electrical clearances, grounding, lighting, lightning protection, and AC and DC distribution system configurations
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure consistency and teamwork
Collaborate with departments such as System Planning, Distributed Energy Resources, Asset Management, Project Management, Project Scheduling, Siting and Permitting, and Plant Accounting to support project planning
