Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required
2-4 years of relevant experience in data center operations or electrical engineering
Basic knowledge of data center electrical systems (transformers, switchgear, etc.)
Strong communication skills to concisely and accurately share knowledge with teammates
Hands-on approach, strong work ethic, prioritization skills, initiative, and drive to challenge oneself and thrive on curiosity

Responsibilities

Participate in design meetings for electrical systems in new data center builds and expansions, providing input under supervision
Assist in conducting feasibility studies and developing specifications for system components
Support the design and construction process, including permitting, under the guidance of licensed engineers
Support the installation of power distribution units (PDUs), UPS systems, cooling units, and other critical infrastructure
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier Standards), safety regulations, and company policies, with oversight
Assist in managing maintenance schedules to ensure electrical systems operate efficiently
Contribute to troubleshooting power issues to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability
Support analysis and forecasting of power needs based on current and projected IT loads
Assist in implementing strategies for energy efficiency and cost reduction
Work closely with senior engineers and team members, seeking guidance and contributing to team efforts
Participate in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team
Support project management for infrastructure projects, from conception through commissioning, under supervision
Assist in coordinating with external vendors, contractors, and internal departments to meet project timelines
Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations concerning electrical systems, under supervision
Promote a safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols
