Requirements

  • 2+ years of proven experience in the assembly and wiring of low voltage switchgear or similar electrical equipment
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training in electrical or electronics fields preferred)
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles and safety practices
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
  • Physical ability to lift, lower, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 8+ hours daily; constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Must pass drug and alcohol program, background check (safety-sensitive position)

Responsibilities

  • Assemble low voltage switchgear according to detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions, installing components such as circuit breakers, bus bars, relays, transformers, and control wiring
  • Perform mechanical assembly of enclosures, mounting rails, and support structures, utilizing hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
  • Terminate and connect various types of electrical wires and cables, ensuring proper crimping, lugging, labeling, color coding, and adherence to wiring standards
  • Conduct inspections of assembled switchgear, performing continuity tests and other quality checks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assembly or wiring issues
