Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required in business, finance, accounting, or related field
  • Up to one year of experience, preferably in investment banking, principal investing or investment advisory
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to perform in-depth quantitative analysis
  • Understanding of commercial real estate sectors, operating KPIs and valuations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) required. Proficiency in relational database management, cloud-based data warehousing, and data visualization tools is considered an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; with the ability to tell a story to senior stakeholders using data and relevant visualizations
  • Good organizational and time management skills; ability to balance multiple priorities under demanding timelines
  • Disciplined and diligent approach, with rigorous attention to detail and an ability to identify discrepancies or inconsistencies
  • Intellectual curiosity, and adaptability in an ever-changing, ambiguous environment, with a proactive attitude

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate potential investment opportunities
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support acquisition and disposition decisions
  • Assist in the due diligence process and incorporate the findings into a financial model
  • Facilitate sale processes, including preparing materials, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring timely execution
  • Contribute to investment memos and presentation materials
  • Support ongoing asset management initiatives, including monitoring investments, tracking business plans and executing key priorities
  • Prepare data-driven portfolio analytics for key portfolio monitoring and reporting initiatives
  • Measure investment performance by developing an understanding of OTPP returns, benchmark, and risk frameworks to assess historical and projected performance
  • Support long-term capital planning by preparing deployment forecasts, as well as monitoring short-term liquidity and deployment activity
  • Support the valuation process, including tracking valuation results and preparing management reporting
  • Build relationships with other key functions across OTPP and contribute to Fund-wide initiatives
