Requirements

At least 18 years of age
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major in early childhood education, elementary education, special education, family and child development, or child psychology
OR Bachelor's degree in any area with two additional three-semester hour early childhood education college courses (one being introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies)
OR Current early childhood professional Credential Level III Version 2.0 as determined by the Colorado Department of Education
OR 2-year college degree (60 semester hours) in early childhood education from a regionally accredited college or university, including at least two three-semester hour courses (one being introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies), and at least six months (910 hours) of satisfactory experience

Responsibilities

Implement by instruction and action the center’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
Provide effective instructional techniques for all students in the classroom
Maintain safety and supervision of all children
Assure compliance with policies and procedures of the EEC, Winter Park Resort, and Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Office of Early Childhood
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of the students
Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher attendants and volunteers, and cooperatively with supervisor, evaluate their job performance
Assist the Director/Assistant Director in keeping accurate attendance records for each child
Maintain EEC in a clean, orderly, safe condition
Maintain effective communication with parents and staff
Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required
Other duties as assigned
Maintain a friendly, professional, and congenial attitude while effectively caring for children and working with parents, guests, and other employees
