Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major in early childhood education, elementary education, special education, family and child development, or child psychology
  • OR Bachelor's degree in any area with two additional three-semester hour early childhood education college courses (one being introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies)
  • OR Current early childhood professional Credential Level III Version 2.0 as determined by the Colorado Department of Education
  • OR 2-year college degree (60 semester hours) in early childhood education from a regionally accredited college or university, including at least two three-semester hour courses (one being introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies), and at least six months (910 hours) of satisfactory experience

Responsibilities

  • Implement by instruction and action the center’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
  • Provide effective instructional techniques for all students in the classroom
  • Maintain safety and supervision of all children
  • Assure compliance with policies and procedures of the EEC, Winter Park Resort, and Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Office of Early Childhood
  • Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
  • Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of the students
  • Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher attendants and volunteers, and cooperatively with supervisor, evaluate their job performance
  • Assist the Director/Assistant Director in keeping accurate attendance records for each child
  • Maintain EEC in a clean, orderly, safe condition
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and staff
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintain a friendly, professional, and congenial attitude while effectively caring for children and working with parents, guests, and other employees
