Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • At least one-year related work experience required
  • Minimum of three years driving history required
  • Must possess an active, valid Driver’s License at all times (held consistently for the past 3 years; HR will conduct MVR check)
  • Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program
  • Meet job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A. and Joint Commissions regulations

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload medical equipment, oxygen and supplies onto and off of delivery vehicles
  • Deliver medical equipment to homecare patients, including setting up the equipment, instructing patients on basic use, assisting with problems, and picking up equipment
  • Proactively communicate estimated arrival times with patients and/or family members to prevent service failures
  • Complete daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, reimbursement documents, and vehicle maintenance logs via paper or electronic means
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and daily inspections (gasoline, oil, fluids, tire pressure, brakes) and report issues to leadership
  • Respond to critical situations during regular business hours and on an on-call basis
  • Comply with all applicable traffic laws and regulatory requirements, including safe driving habits, Driver Qualification File documents, hours of service, daily log, and hazardous materials regulations
  • Adhere to mandatory reporting requirements (e.g., physical abuse, unsafe home environment, unsanitary conditions, insufficient food for children)
  • May clean and assist with the repair of equipment
  • May assist with scheduling daily deliveries and pickups in a timely and efficient manner
  • Perform other duties as required
