Requirements

- Knowledge of equipment associated with the trucking of industrial and/or hazardous waste
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License with tanker and hazmat endorsements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience driving commercial trucks
Responsibilities
- Transports hazardous waste, hazardous materials, industrial fluids, and non-hazardous wastes in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines
- Operates a variety of vehicles including, but not limited to vans, straight trucks, tankers, vacuum tankers and roll offs
- Performs safety inspections and maintains a DOT driver’s log and records, as required by DOT
- Conducts pre- and post-trip inspections of all equipment operated as required or instructed
- Maintains satisfactory customer service by maintaining radio and/or telephone communication with dispatch, supervisor, or manager to receive instructions on pickups and deliveries
- Completes work tickets and maintains daily inventory of tools, fittings and other equipment associated with the transport vehicle
- Reports all safety issues, incidents and concerns to Company management and notifies of current and/or anticipated repair needs
- Responsible for making sure all jobs are operated in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
- Uses Personal Protective Equipment when needed or required
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent
- May require up to 30% OTR
